Laketown Shakedown and Sunfest FAQs

We have up to 4 buses: 2 are 14 seat buses 1 is an 18 seat bus 1 is a 27 seat bus
In most cases we provide door to door service or close to it. There are no set pick up or drop off stops with the exception of the Youbou Road. In Youbou we make it easy to get on the bus at: Meades Creek Road, Miracle Way, Swordfern 1 and 2, Arnold, Bremner at the Ball Field, Youbou Bar and Grill, and the Community Park. We do not have set times for these pick ups and drop offs. You have to let us know you are there for us to pick you up. We pick up and drop off at Roberts Road and Maple Grove (must have at least 10 people). You can also wave us down, or have a street address in Youbou we can stop at.
Laketown is super busy, so yes reservations are suggested. Otherwise, there may not be space on the bus. We may do multiple pick ups for other concert goers as well as yours. For larger groups pre-payment for reservations is preferred. Our buses are super busy so it's important that your group be ready. We do our best to be on time but we do run into glitches that may delay us.
Shuttles are $15 per person - one way Past the Youbou Community Centre is $20 We do not go past Maple Grove Camground Shuttles as far as Mesachie Lake are $15 Past Mesachie Lake are $20 Reservations take priority on the bus. If you do not have a reservation AND there is room for you then you can enter the bus going in the vicinity of your destination.
Cell service is great at the Ranch and the town of Lake Cowichan but the rural areas are terrible. Communications can be difficult for sure.
So do a lot of people. We and the other carriers do our best to get everyone home as fast as possible, not an easy task by any means. If you have a reservation, it's super important to meet that time or we may take the next group and head off. Trust me, this is where the chaos happens.
No problem. We trust you to send us an e-transfer.
We do not service long distance rides. We are shuttling locally. This means if you are wanting a shuttle from Shawnigan, Duncan, Crofton, Chemainus, Nanaimo, Victoria or Cedar, then we are NOT your ride. Our service area is Downtown Lake Cowichan, Youbou as far as Maple Grove Campground, and as far as Gordon Bay Campsite.
In the past there has been a Wilson coach bus. And at times there is an old Blue School Bus provided by Lake Cowichan. We have no idea if these buses will be operating in 2025. If they are they will most likely be at the Cowichan Community Centre on James St. Watch for updates on the Laketown App.
As far as we know there was a bus from Victoria in 2024. Watch the Laketown website/app for details.
Please see the Laketown website.
